B.A. (Chinese Studies) is an undergraduate, inter-disciplinary program focusing on an integrated learning style, encouraging self-study skills, and systematically searching for new knowledge from various learning sources. The program welcomes educational and research cooperation from local and international societies and organizations. Two unique features of the program are: 1) course taking and job training in foreign countries and 2) a pre-existing knowledge in an area of study could be acceptable for a credit upon satisfactory completion of proficiency test.
Objectives
To produce graduates equipped with the integrated Chinese-oriented, inter-disciplinary approach to politics, administration, economics, society, language and cultures
To produce graduates with competence in both English and Chinese with satisfactory ability to communicate effectively in both with emphasis on selected academic issues
To produce graduates who can integrate knowledge and experiences gained from various forms of learning with accountability and responsibility in applying that knowledge with integrity to benefit society
To respond to the needs of society by developing the human capital necessary to fulfil the central government ' s ambition to transform Phuket into a special economic area, a tax free tourist destination, a major center of conventions and meetings, and destination for health tourism.
To use the program as a channel for intensive and diverse forms of academic collaboration with foreign institutions, state and private sectors in terms of joint research, joint instruction with Chinese universities, training and exchange programs.
